What you'll do and what we offer

Role overview: 

Functional support for Solution Implementations: 

  • Gain a thorough understanding of Aptitude’s software and the client’s requirements. 
  • Handle functional aspects of Aptitude’s software implementation. 
  • Configure Aptitude’s product to meet client needs. 
  • Collaborate with the business to define accounting rules for software configurations. 
  • Participate in functional testing. 
  • Perform some responsibilities on client premises; travel may be required. 

Maintenance of the functional aspects of the solution: 

  • Maintain functional aspects of the implemented solution. 
  • Collaborate with the client’s accounting/tax/compliance and IT teams to identify potential improvements. 
  • Analyse financial data processing anomalies and issues; propose workarounds and/or fixes. 
  • Maintain functional configurations to ensure correct processing of financial data. 
  • Assist clients with compliance-related requests. 
  • Investigate and explain data processing outputs to the accounting/tax/compliance teams. 
  • Time zone flexibility and standby support during evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.

What we're looking for

What we’re looking for
Accountancy:

  • Experience in accountancy (financial and/or tax accounting) is required
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and the various facets of Technical Accounting is expected.
  • Understanding of double entry, FX concepts and period end processes is necessary.
  • Ability to evaluate functionality of software products / financial instruments from an accounting perspective is needed.
  • Ideally, experience in working on compliance audit requests.

Accountancy:

  • Experience in accountancy (financial and/or tax accounting) is required
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and the various facets of Technical Accounting is expected.
  • Understanding of double entry, FX concepts and period end processes is necessary.
  • Ability to evaluate functionality of software products / financial instruments from an accounting perspective is needed.
  • Ideally, experience in working on compliance audit requests.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel, including the use of pivots and functions, is required.
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of SQL, with the ability to interpret and write queries, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fundamental database concepts, such as keys and joins, would be an advantage.

Consultancy:

  • Capability to quickly gain an understanding of the project and/or client’s environment
  • Ability to learn new software to the practitioner level and understand its functionality and use for accounting/compliance (e.g. Aptitude Product(s)).
  • Follow the agreed timelines to complete the assigned tasks.
  • Ability to task-switch and effectively prioritize work
  • Take full ownership of the tasks, adhering to the timelines and quality expectations, and seeking guidance where necessary.
  • Proactively request feedback on performance and contribute improvement ideas to the team, as well as strive to expand your knowledge and skill set at all times.
  • Availability and work shifts:
  • Work inside client’s business hours (whether CET or EST / PST)
  • Possible standby cover during weekends and/or bank holidays

Implementation

  • Awareness of delivery approaches, agile, waterfall or hybrid, and the different project stages.
  • A capable practitioner of the Aptitude Product(s) implemented for the assigned client(s) with a broad knowledge of the complete suite of Aptitude Products.

With support:

  • Able to interpret requirements or specification and understand how this relates to software configuration.
  • Able to work with the business to define accounting rules and related functional software configuration.
  • Able to ensure defect occurrences are minimised by developing effective unit-test strategies.
