What you'll do and what we offer
As a Managing Consultant, Delivery, you will be considered an expert in your field and a leader within the Professional Services function. As such, you will provide guidance and support to multiple concurrent projects and the professional services organisation at large. You will be expected to partner with project managers to fully understand and ensure the agreed outcomes of implementations are delivered and will be accountable for the quality and robustness of the delivered solutions, client satisfaction and enablement, enforcement of Aptitude Software delivery methodologies and cross-project knowledge transfer. You will always be expected to focus on the important, strive to deliver value for the client and Aptitude and drive, educate and inspire others around you.
You will demonstrate product mastery and provide confidence, innovative solutions and leadership which enables clients to build trust in our products and capabilities. Critical to the success of this will be your excellent client communication and solution delivery skills.
There will be an expectation that you manage risk and think commercially as part of your decision-making process. You will be at the forefront of managing Aptitude’s overall project delivery, perceptively looking around the corner at what might be coming in terms of challenges across different projects, as well as opportunities for Aptitude’s future growth and return on investment.
Managing Consultants lead and guide the best practice delivery approaches in new verticals and product initiatives. You will ensure the team are actively engaging with other project teams to share knowledge, best practice, client experiences, lessons learnt and re-usable delivery artefacts. You will liaise with Aptitude’s product development teams to inform them when clients’ requirements cannot be met by the product and work to close those gaps.
From time to time, there are likely to be periods of pressure on projects, which can result in stress for team members. The Managing Consultant will need to drive through the issues, help resolve any tensions and keep the team motivated and strong.
As a Managing Consultant, Delivery, you will be regarded by the Senior Leadership Team as their “go-to” person within Professional Services for either functional or technical guidance. As a product expert you will participate in product steering, ensure client and market demands are documented, and engage with the wider organisation to help drive product priorities. You will drive and lead initiatives, serve as a SME for one or more key knowledge domains and ensure teams have the resources, they need to support our clients.
A key part of this role involves managing and developing other Technical and/Functional Consultants. This will include responsibilities such as, Career Management, Training, Compensation reviews, Employee Relations, participate in Resource Planning and provide guidance on best practice to ensure the quality of delivery is fit for purpose. You will also be expected to support the interviewing, hiring and induction process for new Consultants.
It is a given that the Managing Consultant, Delivery proactively keeps up to date with relevant knowledge and skills, motivate the team, celebrate milestones and ensure that they are aligned to the evolving company culture, contributing towards internal communications and sharing stories to the wider Aptitude community where appropriate.
The role will involve significant travel in-country and/or overseas. Although not an exhaustive list, the Managing Consultant, Delivery, must be proficient in the following Skills and Behaviours.

What we're looking for
Consultancy
· Ability to establish and maintain a “trusted advisor” relationship with the client and partner stakeholders
· Ability to communicate effectively with stake holders at all levels, C level, finance, IT and project etc.
· Working closely with the sales teams and delivery management to represent Delivery on sales opportunities and augment sales capabilities.
· Able to develop and present a vision of a fit for purpose and future proof solution to stakeholders.
· Ability and experience to assess delivery risk, current and future, across different projects and develop plans to mitigate delivery issues, such as leading the establishment of best practice approaches or validating more tactical solutions.
· Own the implementation of best practices and principles to be employed by the combined implementation team.
· Offer advice and guidance to clients on areas which may lay outside the boundaries of Aptitude’s responsibilities.
· Provide risk and issue management assistance for delivery teams as a point of escalation. Make Project Assurance a focus in delivery teams’ actions.
· Work with the implementation team and client teams to design the solution such that it supports the required functional and technical requirements as well as business and control processes.
Strategic Initiatives & Organisational Leadership
· Identify and lead initiatives with the purpose of improving the operations of the professional services organisation or the company in general.
· Participate in designated cross functional leadership teams to ensure alignment of the Sales, Product, and Delivery functions of the company.
· Provide valuable input into the resource planning/forecasting.
· Effectively manage technical/functional consultants, i.e. career management.
Business Analysis
· Coach and mentor consulting teams on business analysis approaches such as:
o Identifying and managing stakeholder groups, categorising their current activities, and defining their roles in the context of the target operating model.
o Business analysis techniques, including interviews and workshops, to analyse business processes and capture requirements in a form suitable to feed into the design phase.
Implementation
· Ability to demonstrate cross-domain capabilities to advise and guide clients and consultants which are beyond the expected skills of a Senior Principal Functional or Technical Consultant. For example:
o Advanced project delivery and product knowledge which allows a Functional Managing Consultant to actively participate in technical steering discussions,
o Or a Technical Managing Consultant having an expert functional understanding of specific product / accounting functionality such that they can explain it to others.
· Advanced ability to provide advice and guidance to clients on areas which may lay outside the boundaries of Aptitude’s responsibilities such as best practice General Ledger code block configuration or technical best practice in data warehousing.
· Lead the development of guidance, best practices and approaches which help Senior Principal Consultants to translate requirements into solution designs.
· Lead the development and adoption of best practice testing methodologies / approaches, guiding how they should be applied in the context of Aptitude implementations.
· Provide best practice advice on a wide range of areas such as conversion, testing, parallel running and go live.
In the context of managed services, you will design, develop, implement and operate controls including policies and procedures for Aptitude’s Cloud Services system. You will reassess the suitability of design
